Welcome to the Punchcard Plus official user guide. This document will help you understand how to use the app to track your time efficienty.
1. The Dashboard
The main screen is your command center.
- Punch Button: The large button at the bottom is your primary control. Tap it to Punch In when you start working, and tap it again to Punch Out.
- Current Timer: When active, the card at the top shows your elapsed time for the current session.
- Weekly Progress: The bar chart displays your hours worked for the last 7 days.
2. Managing Your Logs
Sometimes you might forget to punch out, or you need to adjust a previous session.
1. Navigate to the Activity tab (bottom navigation).
2. Tap on any specific log entry to view details.
3. Edit: Change the start or end time.
4. Delete: Remove the entry entirely if it was a mistake.
3. Exporting Reports
To get paid, you need to share your hours.
1. Go to the Settings or Activity tab.
2. Tap Export Data.
3. Select your date range (e.g., "Last Month" or "Custom Range").
4. Tap Generate PDF.
5. The PDF file will be saved to your device, ready to email to your client.
4. Customizing Your Experience
Make Punchcard Plus work for you.
- Hourly Rate: Set your currency and hourly rate in Settings. This allows the app to calculate your estimated earnings in real-time.
- Theme: Toggle between Light and Dark mode using the sun/moon icon.
- Notifications: We recommend keeping notifications ON. This ensures you see a persistent timer in your status bar, so you never forget you're on the clock.
5. Troubleshooting
"The app isn't tracking time in the background."
Android devices sometimes aggressively kill background apps to save battery. To fix this:
1. Open your device Settings.
2. Go to Apps > Punchcard Plus > Battery.
3. Select Unrestricted or No Restrictions.
